“A cage went in search of a bird,” quoted the famous poet Kafka. And this bird-house designed by L.E.F.T, a New York based design collective, is one so attractive that birds would make a literal bee-line for it. Ironically it is made from the empty shells of bullets gathered from areas in Lebanon where hunting of animals is still practised. The artwork is visually stunning besides being fully functional; it is made up of repurposed components and sends out two strong social messages, those being the importance of the conservation of our biodiversity and the clever recycling of discarded elements.
