The eyes of the world were trained on the 51st edition of the iSaloni from the 17th to 22nd april. The extravaganza saw design lovers from the world over make a bee-line for milan to take in the sights and sounds of all the city had to offer.
Organized by the company Cosmit and by a small group of local furniture makers in 1961, the iSaloni was aimed at promoting the export of Italian furniture. Today, 51 years later, it is recognised as the world’s largest design get-together. The city of Milan is packed with design events, exhibitions and launches where everyone who is anyone comes to keep up with the latest.
This year was no exception; the iSaloni attracted the crème de la crème of the international furniture industry. From handmade products made by the capable artisans of Bijoy Jain’s Studio Mumbai and Aldo Cibic to installations by Yves Béhar to Luca Nichetto’s haute couture sofa collection for Cassina, Milan had it all and more!
